As we travel along this circuitous path we call Life, what is it we are seeking? Once we know what it is that we are after, we then need to make a plan of exactly how we are going to get there.
It is my firm belief that the most fruitful and meaningful paths in life are those that are less traveled BECAUSE they are more arduous. BECAUSE they require more work, the end resulting value becomes exponential. When I think of what the MANTRA “Relentless Pursuit” means to me, I think of my goals, both short and long term. I like to imagine each of my goals to be met at the very peak of a mountain, and my trek along the trail is what I need to do to get there. Some peaks are higher, and some trails are more difficult. It requires “Relentless Pursuit”, regardless, to reach the top.
There is not another human being that you will ever come across along your journey that is going to carry your butt to the peak for you. You have to do the legwork. You have to plan your route. It is you that has to put in the time, effort, and sweat. No one else is going to do it for you. There are no ski lifts, trams, gondolas, or quadrupeds to take you to the top of the mountains of your dreams.
Whatever you’re after, one thing is certain. You cannot stop relentlessly pursuing your goals and dreams. Too many begin the trek, then get discouraged by the potholes, deviations, and boulders along the way. They ultimately give up and in, and then spend the rest of their lives rehashing the “what-ifs” of their past in the wee hours of the night. Do NOT let this be your destiny. Relentlessly pursue that which you seek and never give in until you reach your goal.
There are always going to be obstacles. There are always going to be times where we feel like the universe is against us; that everything is working for our failure. This is why the MANTRA “Relentless pursuit” is such a powerful phrase and tool. Apply it to everything that you do, prepare to get your hands a little dirty, and watch amazing things happen in your life.
